Every contract from Mako IT includes Network Management. Time is scheduled in advance for server maintenance. The network is monitored for faults that can disrupt the smooth operation of your business.
Below are some of the services available from Mako IT.
Mako engineers can design a Wide Area Network structure that provides the best network connectivity for your office(s). Using Technologies such as Baseband and Private Networks to connect remote offices over a fast connection. Specialist hardware can be configured to allow fallback or load-balancing over multiple Internet connections.
Mako Engineers are specialists in network security and can configure you Internet connection to be as secure as possible. Threats from the Internet can cripple and even destroy a business network, so one of the first tasks when starting a new contract is to check the networks security.
Bonded Internet connections are a very special type of Advanced WAN. Multiple Internet connections can be "bonded" together to create one faster Internet connection. A properly configured connection allows for fallback in the event of a line failure.
As opposed to Load Balancing where the IP addresses of the connections can be different, a bonded connection has a single range of IP's assigned to all of the lines. This allows for hosting of web sites and other Internet Applications (such as web mail).

Each contract is created for the clients unique needs, however, we have five basic contract types, they are:
Transparent
The Transparent contract is a starter contract, it has a minimum term of three months and includes server checks ever six weeks. The network is monitored 24 hours a day for developing faults. Any work carried out by a Mako Engineer will be agreed in advance and costs estimated. In the event of an emergency the client will be informed of all developments at every opportunity.
Four Hour
For larger businesses with a regular need for IT support, this contract has four hours available for use each month. A discount is applied to the contracted hours and an invoice will be prepared including all work carried out. One hour is dedicated to server maintenance every month.
Four Hour Rollover
Our rollover contract is designed for clients wanting a bit more flexibility in their four hours. Except for the dedicated server maintenance hours any other hours can be rolled over to the next month and even to the month after. If you expect to have months with more Engineer time than normal this contract can give you a more regular pricing and can save you money over the year.
Eight Hour
The Eight Hour contract is much like the Four Hour contract but with twice as much Engineer time and even greater savings!
Fixed Cost
A Fixed Cost contract gives us the most freedom with your Network allowing even better management and a regular cost to you. Engineers will undertake work to improve your networks stability and security without any additional cost.
Remote and onsite work are charged at the same rate and a fixed cost callout fee is set for onsite work. We have extended office hours so that system downtime is minimised between 09:00 and 17:00. Telephone support of less than 10 minutes is not billed but will be displayed in the invoices for reference.

A new service for Mako IT customers.
We have deployed a server with Windows Server Update Services, access to this server is restricted to Mako customers. All available updates are downloaded to this server and are checked before becoming available to users. This ensures that your PCs and servers are stable and have the latest updates available.
